Chinese smartphone company LeEco, previously known as LeTV, is reportedly holding an event in Beijing next month. The event is expected to act as a platform for its US launch as the company has sent invites to the US media as well.
According to the website 9to5 Google, one of the hottest Chinese startups has invited several tech publications in US to its headquarters in Beijing for an event on April 20. There, according to the website, the company says it will be unveiling the “latest products in its smart device ecosystem” asc well as share its vision for the US market.
The company’s biggest rival Xiaomi too is planning to take its smartphones to western markets by the end of next year.
Xiaomi’s global vice president Hugo Barra recently said, “I think we have to be in the western markets by the end of next year.” He reportedly added that this is something that company can’t wait any longer for.
